I’ve been to Galaxy’s Edge twice. I hate to say it, but I wasn’t impressed. I don’t consider myself to be the obsessed Star Wars fan. I don’t have the toys, replicas, etc.. I do have most of the movies and that’s about it. What happened to Galaxy’s Edge?
The Planet: First off it’s a planet no one really cares about. Batuu? Who cares. How is it connected to the films/characters? I don’t know and I don’t feel like reading through the extended universe to find out. The planet is quite boring. The only good thing it has going for itself is the fact that you do feel like you’re in another world when you visit.

The Stores: The shops are just ok. They were nothing spectacular. I’m not spending $200 to build a droid or a light saber My husband and I went to the droid shop and it was pretty much empty. Being a passholder, this is good news for me, but again, I’m not going to spend all that money anyway.

The Restaurants/Food: The food in this land is horrible! Both times my husband and I visited the land, we ate at Docking Bay 7. The first time we shared the cold noodles with shrimp. The second time we both had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes. These potatoes tasted like they had freezer burn. I’m not looking for a gourmet meal, I get it, I’m a Disneyland, but come on! The food was horrible. I don’t eat beef or pork, so my options are limited. I’d still like to try the turkey jerky. The blue and green milk are ok. I tried it once and I’m good.

The Ride: Well, there’s just one. Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run is just an interactive Star Tours. Star Tours is a much better ride. At least on that, I don’t have to worry about pushing a button. I can actually enjoy the ride.

It pains me to say that I don’t like Galaxy’s Edge. I lied earlier, I’m a huge Star Wars fan. I’ve read some books (Legends is better than Canon), I watch YouTube videos and I love the films (definitely not The Last Jedi though). I wanted to love the land too. I want Disney to succeed. I love Disney. Maybe my expectations were just too high. My husband thinks the land is super cool, so there’s a different perspective.
Will I go back? Of course. I have a pass and it needs to be used!
